Worldsmith's Journey

A VRChat world that teaches you how to make a VRChat world.

Walk the whole process, start to finish: Set Up, Create, Test, Ship, Enjoy. Follow a glowing loop path through five pavilions and 25 stations to the finale. No third-party assets: the whole scene is generated from code.

The problem

Making your first VRChat world means a lot of reading before you see anything.

Plenty of people want to build their own world. The usual way in is docs, videos and forum threads, read one at a time, in an order you have to work out yourself.

It's hard to picture what a feature like Object Sync or a synced button actually does until you've built one, and it's easy to lose track of how far through the process you are.

Worldsmith's Journey lets you walk the process instead of reading it, with working demos of the features it explains along the way.

  • One lap is one year

Five acts sit on a loop, each with its own season: spring, summer, autumn, winter and blossom. Neighbouring seasons blend into each other.

  • 25 stations

Each station has a lectern of paged text and a 3D diorama of the step it covers.

  • Demos you can touch

Pickups with Object Sync, a chair, a mirror toggle, a synced colour button and a simulated upload bar, right next to the explanation.

  • Know where you are

A progress board at the plaza lights one pip for each station you visit, and teleport kiosks jump straight to any act.

  • Make yours

The path ends with a checklist for building your own world.

Be first in.
