Tokoyo Ridge

A quiet climb above the clouds, made for resetting.

A meditation and mindfulness retreat in VRChat. You climb a misty karst ridge above a sea of clouds, with a stop for each part of the visit and a private penthouse at the top. It's in production now. These are in-editor blue-hour captures, not final art.

A glass-walled retreat cantilevered off a dark karst cliff at blue hour, warm light inside, stairs climbing past it

The problem

Social VR has plenty of places to hang out. Very few to switch off.

Most popular VRChat worlds are built for parties, games and meeting people. That's great when you want it. But some nights you just want to sit somewhere calm, look at a view and breathe for a bit.

In a busy world, being there tends to mean talking to people. Going somewhere alone can feel empty, and going somewhere public comes with pressure to join in.

There's not much in between: a space you can share with others and still have to yourself.

Tokoyo Ridge is built for parallel solitude. You can be in the same place as other people and still reset on your own, with no pressure to socialise.

  • One climb, stop by stop

Start at the shore gate with its gong and moon gate, then climb through an orientation hall, a tea terrace, a gallery and a practice level with a zendo, zen garden, yoga deck and onsen. There's an optional summit past the penthouse.

  • Views that get better as you climb

Every stop has its own view out over the cloud sea, and each one beats the last.

  • Blue hour, or whenever you like

Blue hour is the default. Dusk, twilight, night, morning and day presets are built too.

  • Made for calm

Planned comfort details: mirrors off by default, a sofa facing every view, a sleep room with rain on the roof, and a settings panel at every stop. Hosted meditation sessions with a synced bell and timer, and a breathing pacer, are planned too.

  • A penthouse at the top

Contemporary rooms to stay in, ancient Japanese places to visit. At the very top is a private penthouse suite for when you want the view to yourself.

Be first in.
