The problem
“The WiFi is slow” could mean almost anything.
When the internet crawls, it's hard to tell why. It might be your connection to the router, the line to your provider, or one device or app on your network quietly eating all the bandwidth.
Speed test sites give you one number and nothing else. Router admin pages, if you can get into them, rarely show clearly which device is using what. So most people just restart the router and hope.
Deez WiFi Checker gives you a health check straight away, and its LAN dashboard points at the devices and processes hogging your connection.
Health check in the browser
Connection type, estimated speed and latency probes to Google, Cloudflare and the app itself. Works with no backend and installs as a PWA on your phone.
Greedy devices and processes
Run the Spectra backend on your own machine with docker compose up to see which devices and processes are using the most bandwidth.
Anomaly alerts
Get flagged when something on the network behaves oddly, with adjustable alert sensitivity.
Metadata only
Encrypted HTTPS traffic is never decrypted, and per-device numbers on home networks are estimates. It's a monitor, not antivirus.
