Deez MATH
2026's big math breakthroughs, in plain language, with demos you can play with.
A guide to this year's major results and the famous problems still open. Each one starts with a plain explanation of what it means and why it matters, then an interactive demo. Flip on Go deeper when you want the real math.
The problem
Huge things are happening in math, and it's hard to follow.
2026 has been a wild year. Old conjectures have fallen, AI models are producing claimed proofs, and some of those come with machine-checked certificates. The headlines say breakthrough but rarely say what was actually shown.
The papers are written for specialists. The news pieces are often vague, or mix up what's proven, what's only claimed and what's still waiting on peer review.
Deez MATH gives each result a plain story, a reason it matters and a demo for intuition, and it's upfront about what has and hasn't been verified.
Ranked by importance
Breakthroughs and landmarks in one list, most important first, with who found it and whether there's a Lean proof.
Plain words first
Every entry opens with what it means in everyday terms and why it matters, before any notation.
Go deeper
A switch in the header adds the formal math for when you want the real thing.
Demos you can poke
Colour the plane and hunt for clashes, or pour disks into a box and shake them towards a perfect packing. Intuition tools, not proofs.
Open problems
A separate catalogue of what's still unsolved, from the Millennium Prize problems to Goldbach, twin primes and Collatz.
