EmilyGPT is Worldbuild's own-IP companion: a voice-first digital assistant with AR presence, built end-to-end (design, UX, development, distribution). In 2024 she reached #1 on the iOS App Store Paid Entertainment charts — proof that a spatial character product can compete in consumer software, not only in festival rooms.

Role

Design, development, UX, production, and distribution by Dale Deacon / Worldbuild. Stack lineage includes OpenAI and Microsoft Azure; shipping targets iOS and Android.

What it tests

Most "AI companion" products stay flat: text in a rectangle. EmilyGPT asks whether an agent needs a body, voice, and place in the room to feel useful. Immersion here is not tourism — it is product immersion: retaining attention long enough for a relationship with software to form.

That same pattern feeds Storytelling: a face and voice make an idea portable. The expedition sits on both pillars deliberately.
